Comparison Finder is looking for an editor to work with our publishers across our comparison websites to create remarkable content and build our readership and user engagement rates.

Key responsibilities

● Create remarkable content that people can’t help but read and share
● No matter what the topic, make the content piece educational, interesting and entertaining to read
● Able to manage all types of content creation including:
○ Text
○ Diagrams and images
○ Infographic
○ Video
○ Animation
○ Comic and Cartoon
● Know how to make a piece of content beautiful and easy to read
● Know how to dissect a topic into its granular bits and remake it into eye catching and interesting reading that viewers can’t help but read through
● Comfortable with leveraging a team of writers but also happy to lay down text when its required
● Able to recruit, grade and review writers
● Interviewing people in a range of different circumstances;
● Building contacts to maintain a flow of news, e.g. Finance Journalists, authors, expert personal finance bloggers, the RBA, government finance contacts, community groups, health trusts, press officers from a variety of organisations, the general public, etc.
● Seeking out and investigating stories via your contacts, press releases and other media
● Attending press conferences, networking events and asking questions
● Answering the phones on the news desk and reacting to breaking news stories
● Working closely with graphic designers, video producers, animators, photographers and editors
● Producing concise and accurate copy according to strict deadlines
● Researching and writing longer feature articles for all our sites
● Creating and uploading news content for the websites

You have the following traits

● Finance knowledge to write and create comprehensive content. You might not understand all of the niches of finance but you know how to make finance interesting.
● Demonstrated experience in any personal finance fields
● Experience writing on business and finance topics
● Tertiary Education in journalism, English or communications
● Journalistic skills and ability to promote content and stories to the media
● Ability to deeply investigate topics and produce comprehensive and remarkable content pieces about them
● You can create breaking news and PR worthy content piecs - a bit of creativity is ideal!
● Keen to be part of a growing fast paced Internet publishing business
● You love creating remarkable content that people can’t help but remark to others about
● You are proactive and want to achieve
● You understand the importance of detail when it comes to writing about sensitive topics
● You are creative but understand how to work in a framework
● You know how to inspire and guide others that you work with
● You are happy to burn the midnight oil and make magic happen on the Internet
